Seeking Shelter is a vivid child's-eye account of life in wartime England as the author lived it: an adored only child in a large Jewish clan whose comfortable existence becomes one of food shortages, gas masks and air-raid sirens, and - worst of all - being sent away for months and years at a stretch to escape German bombs.

Cynthia Ehrenkrantz was raised in the London area of Great Britain and emigrated to the United States in 1957. She began writing when she was eight years old - a story about a family of pins living between the floorboards of a dressmaker’s shop. She has been writing ever since but began publishing more recently after raising three children and retiring from a successful career in the specialty food industry. Cynthia also tells stories at regional storytelling events and sings with the Yiddish Philharmonic Chorus in New York.
